oo, we got a tip, seems as if @Piglet likes this market. thx dude :)

@Chimpey you're tipping yourself with your bot, you changed a market description shortly before close and hid two markets, seemingly for the purpose of making one of them resolve in your favor. I dislike your behavior, some of it is harmful to the platform and some of it is just annoying, and I plan to not trade on any of your markets unless I see evidence that you've changed.

Yeah, that's not a good look.

@PhilipDowdell just so you know, the dude you are talking about is not @Chimpy which the cool math design as his profile, which is me. It's the chimpey with the e

@Chimpy the sins of the imposter shan't be credited to thee

@Quroe what would you rate the quality of these markets 0 from 10? 0 is like, read one word of the title and you go "hell nahhh", read the description and is like "this is rlly vague." 10 is, you read the title and your reaction is "ooo, i wanna check this out" and then you read description and you think "wow, very clear. i like this" and then you do some research, bet on it, and be happy. and then constantly check in because you think the market is interesintg

@Chimpey Do you want a linear scale or a logarithmic scale? And do you want a sycophantic answer or a harsh answer?

@Quroe hmm, linear. and not harsh or stcophanitc. simply true

@Chimpey To me, you're currently scoring a 2 of 10 on a linear scale, on average.

I'd like to introduce you to the idea of building a brand for yourself. Your (screen) name is a brand. If people see your brand and associate it with a feeling, what emotion do you think is being evoked?

Every word in your market description and title has a cost associated with getting people to read it. Reading it costs attention span. This is a Law of Equivalent Exchange. If you want something of value, you must give something of value. If your market description is riddled with fluff that does nothing mechanically other than express that you want my attention, then paradoxically, you are going to lose it. Be so good that they can't ignore you.

The pattern I have seen in your markets so far creates an expectation that other markets of yours are going to respect my attention in a similar manner. If you have to ask for my attention repeatedly, consider contemplating why you haven't had more engagement yet and adapt. (Use the @traders tag sparingly to get people's attention, or else people will block you.)

You are still relatively new to this site, so understandably, you're trying to figure out what sticks. This is a normal progression for a Manifolder! It took me a while to figure out what markets people like engaging with. You're going to fail -- a lot. I did too.

Get knocked down; get back up; throw another fist. You're only defeated when you decide to not get back up. You have unlimited tries to figure this out as long as you've got the mana to try again. I believe in you! You've got this.

@Quroe oh yikes 😱💀 2/10. but very encouraging 🥺😁😁. Thanks! Imma keep on improving. So much of shat you've said makes sense!

@Chimpey could you explain this part more in depth? "The pattern I have seen in your markets so far creates an expectation that other markets of yours are going to respect my attention in a similar manner. " and what parts of my market descriptions express that i want other peoples attention, if u could give an example or just explain thst a bit more?

@Chimpey Oh, heck, I'm confusing you and Chimpy. Branding matters. One of you two should change your name.

So let me recalibrate my response here.

Let's say a 5 of 10 on a linear scale. They're interesting enough to grab my attention to click, but I don't find myself returning to them.

The low score initially was from some recent pings that were prodding for user attention without offering any new information for us to work with. I can't tell if those were you or Chimpy from memory alone, but the fact that I would have to spend effort to figure out who is who here is not doing any favors for anybody. Regardless, whoever did it soured my expectations, and that feeling transfered to these markets very easily.

@Quroe bro why did you take the time to write such an elaborate answer for my doppelgänger

@Chimpy I don't normally say my unfiltered emotions out loud unless somebody gives me the consent to let me rip into it. Being handed a microphone has an allure, but it can be hurtful if nobody asked for my opinion in the first place.

Sorry if I have offended you. Or maybe it was directed at Chimpey. I can't take back what I've put out there already. I really can't tell who is who when your names are this similar. 😅

(edited)

@Quroe oh, good time to clear this up. To decide between @Chimpey (doppelgänger) and @Chimpy (original + better)

It is always @Chimpy Unless:

it seems to have come from a buffoon: then you've bumped into @Chimpey (profile = the painting)

@Chimpy by the way, we are chill so he doesn't mind me saying this :) hehe

@Chimpy lmao. thx @Quroe . that makes sense. :))) my brand will be like lululemon soon

@Quroe btw @100Anonymous gave me rating of 4/10 on average :))

Okay, I'm glad you guys are cool.

But yeah, treat attention and trust/faith like currencies. They are intangibles, but that doesn't mean they can't be both earned and spent. Bank them up, and don't overdraft on an empty balance.

And note that fun and interest are almost entirely the relevant currency around here; Mana is just how we keep score. No one is putting in the effort they do because they think it is somehow going to be a good RoI on their time investment.

@Chimpey You didn't ask my opinion, but @Quroe tagged me here so...

I'm not going to try for a numerical answer. But you could improve the quality of the list by deleting every entry that needs "free mana" to sell it. (And, corollary: remove the "free mana" from any entry that doesn't need it.)

@Chimpey no lol. see my other comment. You are 3/10 on the scale mentioned there.

and if u don't got the mana to bet, i got a solution for you :) https://manifold.markets/post/investment-loans?r=Q2hpbXBleQ lowkey, there are so many securities for you that you prob won't even have to pay back loan bc the investor will still get mana back. hehe. kidding, don't listen to that

IS THAt MY MARKETSTTTT!!!!!! HAHAHWOWOWOW
