We already have machine translations tools that are adequate for simple conversations. This niche is already filled.
Seems similar to toki pona. Which already has more than 1000 speakers. Hard to see this language becoming popular.

Its non-recursive grammar
Its limited phonology obscures word roots.
I think limited phonology is more important than word-root recognition for an international auxiliary language, so I disagree with the author. But the other two are significant problems.
@EricMoyer read the article, quite convincing. Lets see if Mini will ever have 1000 speakers. Would be nice.
@ForrestTaylor Lojban is meant to be perfectly logical and regular, it's more of a philosophical language that isn't meant to be used naturally. Min is a minimalistic language with indo-european word roots made to be an auxiliary language.
