According to The EconoTimes:

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has voiced his support for Elon Musk’s ambitious proposal to restructure the U.S. government by reducing its federal agencies from 428 to just 99. The bold plan is part of a new initiative spearheaded by Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy under the "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE), a key component of former President Donald Trump’s policy agenda for his new administration.

The most comprehensive list of U.S. government agencies is published by USA.gov. As of December 8th, 2024, they list 419 unique agencies, which is close to Johnson's stated number. This question will resolve to YES if at most 328 government agencies are active by the end of Trump's term on January 20th, 2029.

An agency will be considered closed if at least one of the following conditions is true:

1) It is no longer listed on USA.gov or other authoritative lists of government agencies.

2) It has no funding allocated to it. For example, if the "Office of Cuba Broadcasting" technically still exists but has $0 in funding allocated to it, it will be considered de facto shut down.

Clarifications:

- It's not necessary for a direct causal link to exist between DOGE and the reduction of agencies. If, for example, Vance is the one who pushes the reforms through, this question will still resolve to YES.
- Edge cases will be resolved by mods.
