The companion to my Evil Hangman market: https://manifold.markets/moobunny/manifold-plays-evil-hangman
Add a six-letter English word as an answer to guess the winning word! One guess per person, and no duplicate guesses. If, at the end of the game, the winning word is a valid submission, the submitter will win Ṁ1000 minus Ṁ100 for each wrong guess Ṁ500 in the hangman game at the time of submission, and the market will resolve to that word. If not, this market will resolve to "Nobody guesses the winning word." (Edit: Reward frozen at Ṁ500.)
Low liquidity to make submissions easier. I will not bet on this market.
There will be no AI clarifications added to this market's description.

Jack’s official guess is “vining”, and “dining” is now unclaimed taken by wolf. Thanks for your patience, everyone, and I’m sorry about any hurt feelings.
A list of all(?) potential answers:
dining (Chosen)
fining (Chosen)
lining (Chosen)
pining (Chosen)
vining (Chosen)
wining (Chosen)
I made a mistake, and when notified I have done my best to good faith fix my mistake. No one has been impacted. I don’t see why it is deceptive. Thanks
@Jack1 I'm waiting for the mods to get involved, but handling your error in good faith would mean accepting that you might not get your preferred resolution. Instead, after I explained how I would handle it - the same way I would handle anyone else adding multiple options, namely, oldest is valid! - you persisted in overruling my resolution because you perceived it to be to your disadvantage, and editing options to represent different answers from how you submitted them. You need to take a lap.
@moobunny I am already being generous in accepting "vining" instead of "mining", which was your actual first guess.
@moobunny why does it matter what word you accept? No hints were revealed and no one bet on the market between me adding the answers and me fixing my answers so I only have 1
@moobunny exactly. Being consistent would mean in future if someone makes a mistake, asking them to fix it. If no one bets, and no hints were revealed, asking someone to mark all their answers as invalid except 1, makes the most sense to me
@Jack1 I've already explained the consistent and fair system that makes sense to me. You're in no position to argue otherwise.
@moobunny that makes sense if someone isn’t online and didn’t fix it and you need to do it immediately. But 1 minute after you pinged me I was trying to fix my mistake. In my opinion if someone is online please let them fix their mistake
I’m not deceiving anyone. I’m the only person who has added answers, I’m not stealing anyone’s answer.
I’m allowed one answer, and I’ve added it, and that is final. My final guess is dining. It won’t change again. It would be deceptive if I adjusted it after the next letter reveal but I won’t, so it’s fine.
Yes I made a mistake and didn’t real the full rules. I believe marking all of my answers except one as invalid is fair. I should be allowed to choose my 1 answer, they weren’t added in order of preference, just randomly by me.
@Jack1 Reading the rules is your responsibility. And I'm not trying to avoid paying out here, I fully expect someone will add the correct answer.
@moobunny no it’s not deceptive. Who is deceived. I have 1 answer on the board, in accordance with the rules.
@moobunny no you aren’t. Fair would be saying choose 1 answer and mark the rest invalid. Thats the only fair way.
@Jack1 please do not badger market creators. if they have made some ruling that you think is sufficiently egregious that you need the mods to step in and unresolve something or etc, do that, but i do not think you believe that would apply in this case, in which case, accept what they say and move on.
@Ziddletwix Thank you for your comment. Can I get a judgement on their remaining answer? It was originally “vining” and my ruling was that that should be their final guess, but they kept editing it to “dining” and now it’s been that way for a couple hours. Should it be edited back to be consistent with my original ruling (and the original identity of that answer) or leave it?
@moobunny I can’t edit comments (nor would I in this case) and I don’t think you can tell someone to edit their comment either. Go with the original answer or the edited one if you want and document what you did, whatever their comment says now
@moobunny I’m going to stick with what I originally decided (after allowing that it was acceptable to skip “mining”) and make “vining” their official guess.
@moobunny You are the market creator, do what you want. I won't trade your markets again. When i made a mistake on another market, the creator pinged me and I immediately fixed it. If you want to be insufferable about it, please yourself. You'll lose traders.
