Inspired by this Politico newsletter:

EU election campaigning is getting underway and it seems everyone is throwing around ideas for new commissioner portfolios.

Resolves YES for each entry of a commissioner created directly after this EU election.

Existing commissioner roles of the current Von der Leyen Commission resolve NO.

The names do not need to match exactly to avoid redundant entries. For example, "Security and defense commissioner" = "Defense commissioner".

There is a new "Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport". Should that count as "Future generations commissioner"? It seems to match the intent to some degree but the name is very different. Opinions?

There is a "Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy" so "Water" is YES.

There’s already a commissioner for “maritime affairs and fisheries”, would that meet your definition of non-exact match?

@Lui Yes, buy some "Fisheries commissioner" 😉

@marktwse ah but that conflicts with the statement “Existing commissioner roles of the current Von der Leyen Commission resolve NO.”!

@Lui You are right. Resolved it as NO.

Will Future generations commissioner resolve as Yes if there is a commissioner "whose responsibilities will include ensuring intergenerational fairness" ?

Hm, I'd say "include" is too weak. On the other hand, if the title would be "intergenerational fairness commissioner", I'd say YES.

Somebody is way to deep into EU politic nerdyness...
