Resolution criteria

Subnautica 2 is coming out in 2026, but no specific quarter has been announced. This market resolves based on the quarter in which early access launches on PC or Xbox. Resolution will be determined by checking the official Steam store page (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1962700/Subnautica_2/) or Xbox Game Preview listing for the exact release date. If early access does not launch in any quarter of 2026, the market resolves to "Not in 2026"

Background

Subnautica 2's Early Access release was originally slated for 2025, with an Unknown Worlds blog post announcing the delay to 2026 in July of 2025 after internal playtests revealed several areas still in need of improvement. The game will support single-player and co-op gameplay with a total of up to four players, the first time multiplayer gameplay is present in the series. The Early Access period is expected to last 2-3 years.

Considerations

No specific quarter within 2026 has been announced by Unknown Worlds or publisher Krafton. The vague "2026" window means any quarter is plausible, though early quarters (Q1-Q2) are more typical for major releases.
