The existence of Sora, and the fact that videos could be from Sora, has already influenced shitposting, and I expect it to have real commercial effects in this area. See embed.

[Re: Sports]

I don't understand how this could possibly be the case? What sports can you play in "up to a minute" of footage? That's without even getting into whether glitches or lack of community or whatever would render this a no-go.

sold Ṁ2 Sports YES

@MugaSofer I was adding it more out of curiosity than conviction. I was thinking of some kind of instant replay except deep-faked, but agree that that doesn't sound like something people would want. Then again I don't do sports so 🤷‍♂️

@ASomewhatRudeParakeet To be fair, while this specific system might not be useful for sports, the NBA did proudly unveil a generative AI ... thing... today. https://twitter.com/FOS/status/1758543171355554025?t=iLfrQVFB3BpQN2XsNvDf_w&s=19

@MugaSofer Yeah as cringe-inducing as this is (and it definitely is) it does seem like there's something there. Lots of people play Madden, Fifa, etc to explore hypotheticals in games so maybe there's a place for diffusion video models.

Who's going to add it first 🤔

@jgyou haha okok I'll volunteer

sold Ṁ3 Pornography YES

@shankypanky Isn’t OpenAI going to block that?

@DavidFWatson Presumably, but time will tell
