Nima Momeni, who is accused of killing Bob Lee, stabbed the Cash App founder with a kitchen knife in an attack that city prosecutors described as “planned” and “deliberate” in court documents NBC Bay Area released Friday.
Shortly before the murder, the two men argued over the suspect’s sister, before Momeni reportedly drove Lee to a “secluded area” of the city, stabbed him three times and fled, leaving Lee “to slowly die,” the documents alleged.
(In California, first-degree murder is defined as the intentional and premeditated killing of another person.)
Clarifications:
A conviction in any jurisdiction counts
A guilty plea is a conviction
Early preliminary resolution policy: If the course of events makes it apparent that the resolution will almost certainly be NO, it may preliminarily resolve NO, but if a conviction later happens anyway before 2026, then the market will be reopened and the resolution changed to YES. Specifically, preliminary resolution may be used if he is found not guilty of the charge in a trial, or if he is found guilty of a lesser charge but not first-degree murder, or if prosecutors officially announce that they are not bringing or have dropped the charge.
