Resolves YES if any player of the group {Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic} wins the regular season MVP of the NBA 2024. Resolves NO otherwise.
@ChinmayTheMathGuy I have Embiid #1 right now, but hold YES. I think the chance of injury is decent, but same can be said for pretty much all of them.
@ChinmayTheMathGuy I think Embiid legitimately deserves it over Jokic at this point, but there was so much backlash last year (especially after Jokic won the championship) that I think Embiid would have to be significantly better to beat him. Plus voters could just go SGA/whoever else rises to escape that debate entirely.
I think one of them will. Jayson Tatum would have good chances but the recent trades (Jrue and Porzingis) significantly drop its usage and shots-per-game. The other player which could make it is Embiid again, but having seen the percentage of times where a player won back-to-back MVP is 12/77 (15%), I would say its more probable he doesn't win it.
@MichelePittarello I agree with your bet that one of them will win the NBA MVP title in 2024. Nikola Jokic is the most probable winner with an expected 28.4 ppg, 12.9 rpg, 8.4 apg and a large .293 win share per 48 minutes of playtime. This counts as well for Embiid and Doncic who have similar expected statistics for this season. However, Jokic will still be most favourable as the Nuggets are the most likely winners of the NBA title, but the addition of Holiday and Porzingis to the Celtics might jeopardize this. With the chance of it happening more likely than not, this is definitely a safe bet.
