Big part of discourse become about AI rights because they sound human like. People have AI gfs. People are very confident AIs are sentient and think like humans. That sort of thing. Resolves to my own judgement in 1 year from now.

@creator It is time for judgement. How should this resolve?

@mods Should we wait for their eventual return? Or just crack the mana free now?

@Quroe CRACK IT FREE! HMYS is unlikely to ever become a very active user again for historical reasons.

I'm tempted to resolve this YES bc of some high profile cases in the past year and bc it's my personal take about the matter, but looking at the creator's comment below and the close date I think I'll just ride with market sentiment here.

@Stralor oh wait that wasn't a long past close date. oh well. not my market, trying to adhere to creator statements.

Unclear what "insane" means and possibly derogatory.

Thinks no, resolution too unclear to bet

With enough looking you can find people today with AI gfs, or who argue AI is sentient. What could you see, that you currently don't see today, that would make this resolve Yes?

@C3POtheDragonSlayer If AI rights becomes a bigger concern than AI alignment, that would resolve it YES. If more than 10% of people in the age-bracket 15-35 are in long-term relationships with AI (and no human partner) that would also make it resolve YES. If there is a big political movement with national attention that takes for granted that AI systems are sentient that would resolve YES. Some convex combination of these might also make it resolve YES.

I think currently we're remarkably not-insane. (wrt this concern that is)
