I fail to see how freeing up mana profits the site. It is to sites advantage to have a tropism tovards increasinh investment not decreasing, and keeping the money invested. Keeping investments in is why loans exist.

Can't you just place a buy order in the opposite direction?

@spiderduckpig you can, but then you end up with a bunch of YES and NO shares on the same market, which you will need to liquidate. And doing that might be annoying, especially if the market's liquidity is low.

@spiderduckpig just saw this exchange because of the market resolution, so I want to correct my old comment. You don't get left with YES and NO shares; they get cashed out to mana automatically. So this does work as a Sell order, except that you need to be holding a big enough balance to buy the NO shares - both at the time you place the order and when it gets filled.

This is very annoying for me since I tend not to hold much of a balance
