Will Manifold's API Add Fractional Limit Orders?

Manifold's limit order API allows traders to place limit orders in increments of single percentage points.

For example, you can buy YES at 50% and 51%, but you can't place a limit order at 50.5%. Trying to do so yeilds the error:

{ "message":"limitProb must be in increments of 0.01 (i.e. whole percentage points)" }

This market resolves YES should manifold ever change this behavior by EOY 2026.

But I'll be pissed when your limit order at 49.99 gets filled before mine at 50

opened a Ṁ250 NO at 20% order

For this to resolve YES, do you need to be able to place an order at 50.5% specifically? I think it's more likely they add fractional orders at the extremes, like <5% and >95%.

@wasabipesto either will resolve YES, even if I'd much prefer fractional orders at every level :)

I'm not sure I see the point in this. Are your probability judgements so precise that you would want to bet at 50.5% but not 50% or 51%?

@xjp yes, in some cases when betting on futures, stochastic events, etc I really do want to bet the results of my math. 1% increments are too course grained and are probably why I'll leave the platform soon.

Also consider scenarios where a market's probability is already near 5 or 95%. A single percentage point means a lot in terms of liquidity. 99% to 99.9% lets you express notions of 1 in 100 and 1 in 1000 too, which is a very natural distinction in some markets.

I'm not saying the UI needs to show these numbers btw. For casual users 1% increments are fine. But for power users using the API we could get so much out of it
