The Corruption Perception Index (CPI) scores and ranks 180 countries by perceptions of political corruption. Transparency International updates the CPI at the end of January each year.

This question resolves YES to the country with the largest improvement in their CPI score between 2024 and 2025. Note that a country's score is a point value on a scale between 0 and 100, not its relative ranking.

Feel free to add other countries included in the CPI.

For reference, countries with major year-on-year improvements recently include:

  • 2024: Oman (+12)

  • 2023: Egypt (+5)

  • 2022: Afghanistan (+8)

  • 2021: Malawi (+5)

If there is a tie, this question resolves YES to each of the tied countries that share the largest decline in their CPI scores.

The CPI's latest results are available on Wikipedia, Transparency International's CPI web page, and the 2024 CPI report.

I've downloaded the corruption perceptions data from 2024 and 2025 and took the difference, resulting in these top countries. Since Brunei and Belize were not included in the 2024 index, I am excluding them.

That means Azerbaijan is the country whose corruption perceptions improved the most in 2025. Resolving NO to all above-listed entries (and nothing resolves YES since Azerbaijan wasn't even a listed option).
