The Economist has awarded its "Country of the Year" title annually since 2013. The award highlights nations that have demonstrated significant progress in areas such as governance, human rights, economic development, or social reforms over the past year. The selection is usually announced in December of each year. Bangladesh was selected as the Country of the Year for 2024. Previous winners include Greece (2023), Ukraine (2022), and Malawi (2020).
