Doug Burgum. He is the current governor of North Dakota, and was president of Great Plains Software from 1984-2001, when he sold it to Microsoft for $1.1 billion.

Do they have to be a current CEO or currently affiliated with the company?

& if not, if the company hit >$1B market cap while they were no affiliated with them, does that count?

e.g. Mark Cuban once founded Broadcast.com, which was bought for $5B but no longer exists

@wustep No they don't have to be currently affiliated with the company.

The spirit of the question was that they have to be largely known for being a tech exec, and haven't previously held political office. So Mark Cuban barely counts, Michael Bloomberg does not.
