Background

The mayor of Ukrainian city Ivano-Frankivsk wrote last year: "We must be a 100% Ukrainian-speaking city [...] We have no moral right to tolerate the language of the enemy!"

Resolution criteria

This market will resolve YES if, at any time before the close date, the preponderance of evidence suggests that more than 99% of the residents of Ivano-Frankivsk (or Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast) speak Ukrainian as their dominant language.

This market will otherwise resolve NO.

Close date

This market is set to close at 22:00:00 UTC on 31 December 2027.
