You also informed the leadership team that allowing the company to be destroyed would be consistent with the mission.
The mission the board refers to is
Our mission is to ensure that artificial general intelligence (AGI) benefits all of humanity.
We will attempt to directly build safe and beneficial AGI, but will also consider our mission fulfilled if our work aids others to achieve this outcome.
The charter exists to guide the board.
The charter will guide us in acting in the best interests of humanity throughout its development.
The board saying that allowing the company to be destroyed would be consistent with the mission implies that destruction of OpenAI is consistent with their pursuit of development of an AGI which benefits humanity.
which further implies that either OpenAI is not on track to achieve AGI, or to achieve AGI that would benefit humanity. This is a very strong statement to make by the board.
I will evaluate the validity of this statement (and also keeping in mind the context it was made in), and resolve the market accordingly. If you'd like to ask for clarifications, please do so in the comments. Subjective markets are hard to operationalize beforehand, and a cooperation by traders is much appreciated.
