@traders actually, for kicks I decided to make a market just for "The Phantom Menace", to celebrate its strange re-release this weekend. Can it gross >$7.5M? (more than plenty of new movies open to these days lol)
@traders don't think i'll make a new version for this weekend—not much notable happening, so with liquidity subsidies removed i don't think weekly box office markets are worth the effort unless there's a movie with actual interest. so check out @mattyb 's market for THE FALL GUY's opening weekend (the only actually interesting bit this week)
@Ziddletwix yea, it’s incredible how on it you were. i’ll bet on the bolder side here, but it’s gonna be close as hell for these.
you left off all the newer movies though
@mattyb yeah it felt like these weren't getting much traction (& generally my interest in putting up in markets for everything is down a bit as we wait to see how the changes all shake out, since I do think there will be robust markets for the biggest movies but not the small ones any more), altho other ppl can add options to this one if they want. but yeah maybe slightly odd to add dune/kfp4 over the actual relevant new movies lol but that's to keep up the continuity for old times sake, i enjoy that i've been betting on dune every week for months lol
