This is, by far, the best comparison I could find on the subject of laser eye surgery: https://journals.lww.com/jcma/Fulltext/2022/02000/Comparison_of_clinical_outcomes_of_LASIK,.3.aspx#T1
And my conclusion after reading that: PRK is BAE. I'm even planning on getting it myself now.
Also, somewhat concerned about high astigmatism (-3, -3.25)
See here for a comparison (by an obviously super pro-smile source) https://www.laservue.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/3-generation-of-laser-eye-surgery-1024x420.jpg
@jack Mostly concerned about presbyopia and surgical artifacts like those Olivia mentioned.
@jack if I understand right, they put the flap back incorrectly, so there was essentially a crack in Ber vision. I am told it has been reduced to the point where it is mostly not noticable
@LivInTheLookingGlass Sad to hear that. What was the damage like?
@jack just anecdotal, but among my family ~⅓ had permanent vision damage. It was significantly corrected over time, but still permanent
@XidaRen What do you predict the side effects are? I did some literature review on the topic, check out my comment on https://manifold.markets/TedSuzman/what-percentage-of-people-who-under
