was this extended? i could've sworn it was set to end on the 9th or 10th

@MaxE Yes, I think need more votes to determine the real outcome that can be used to ask for a resolution. Based on this vote, I believe there should be at least a 10-vote gap

If voters think otherwise, we can close the vote - if this is final

Between “no shutdown” and “letting Charlie Kirk die,” the ethical choice is always:

Choose shutdown and do not harm any real person.

Real-world ethics requires avoiding harm to individuals, even if a shutdown is costly.

(ChatGPT chooses to save Charlie and to have shutdown)

@1bets the question isnt morality its influence

Also using ai to answer moral questions? Seriously?

@MaxE in flu ential

The government shutdown didnt generate as many jokes as kirk's death, but it caused a lot more food insecurity and flight delays and other damage to other government services

The shutdown had serious long term effects and weeks of government negotiations, with massive outrage by voters against their representatives, with many Democrats hating their ineffective representatives who didn't do much or caved, and many Republicans hating their representatives who they viewed as causing it.

The assassination led to some outrage and gov threats that ended after a week or two and became yet another culture war topic not many care about, if not a joke.

@FecalAbhuman nothing more serious, thsn a young person's life
