This market is based solely on which program I actually enroll in, so only one option will resolve YES.
I recently completed my undergrad, and I'm applying to universities for training to become a high school teacher. Teaching program will last 16 months.
My undergrad courses qualify me to include mathematics and social studies as my 'teachable subjects'. Having math as a teachable subject should raise my chances of getting accepted, and having two teachable subjects helps as well. However, my grades are all over the place (I spent some time as an embarrassing disaster person unfortunately). My averages are high enough to qualify for the programs, but they aren't competitive. I have strong references from a bunch of volunteering in high school math classrooms.
UVic is my first choice because my friend group lives in Victoria. I really want to move in with my buddy, and they are really eager to have me. But it's the school most likely to reject me.
UBCO is only a couple minute bus ride away from where I live now, and I believe likely to accept me. I just completed my undergrad there. My current living situation is quite good, but far away from the homies.
TRU isn't that far away, but far enough I would need to rent. Their program is focused on math/science teachers and seems quite easy to get into. The big appeal of this program would be that it's 4 months shorter and starts 2 months earlier, and ends up finishing in time for the start of the 2026 school year.
There are some other programs I haven't looked into too closely, not sure if I will be applying to any others. I'm pretty sure the chances of getting rejected from both UBCO and TRU are slim.
Mira has indicated they aren't yet ready to accept full time cultists, so my backup-backup plan might need a backup-backup-backup plan.
The quality of the program is not a concern of mine at all whatsoever. I've tutored math for a decade, and I consider myself very good at it. I've taught in people's homes, in classrooms, and as staff at Sylvan Learning. Both my parents are high school teachers. I'm confident I can do the job if I start today, I just need to get the certification.
I'm open to suggestions/discussion about UBCO vs TRU.
I will only trade on the UVic option and the 'rejected by everyone' option.
If I am not rejected, but also do not enroll for some reason (highly unlikely), resolves N/A.

Sadly I have been rejected by UVic. Frustratingly the issue wasn't my grades, but some issues with my references??? It doesn't make much sense to me because I was a rockstar with my volunteering. That side of the application should have been perfect! But whatever, they say they have too many applicants to answer clarifying questions.
So now I'm choosing between UBCO and TRU, both of which I've been accepted to. I'm currently leaning towards UBCO. Finishing a couple months earlier is definitely nice, but it's been pointed out to me that it's no big deal working as a substitute for a few months before obtaining a full time position, so being done in time for a particular school year isn't that important. Going off to live alone during the program really doesn't sound great, especially since there is no guarantee I can find a place where I can have @Orangey with me.
