Resolution criteria
This market resolves to YES if Manchester City is officially expelled, disqualified, or relegated/demoted to a lower league as a direct sanction imposed by the Premier League, an independent commission, or an associated appeal/arbitration panel.
This market resolves to NO if
Manchester City is sanctioned but not expelled, disqualified, or relegated as a direct disciplinary penalty (e.g., they receive a points deductions that is not sufficient to relegate them, transfer bans, suspended punishments, and/or financial fines).
Manchester City is relegated to a lower division solely due to their on-pitch performance (i.e., finishing in the bottom three of the Premier League table).
1,000@traders Do note that relegation/expulsion does not have to occur in the 2026/2027 season. It only needs to happen in response to the 115 charges, hence why the market closes in 2028.
@Tom If City receive a large points deduction and are then relegated at the end of the season due to finishing in the bottom three, how will you resolve?
@DanBorthwick Would resolve to YES since without the points deduction, they wouldn't be relegated. Sorry for the confusion, I'll update the description.
