@TobiasSowaaed for what it's worth, the Sep 30th number is not out yet so this was resolved slightly prematurely (it is of course phenomenally unlikely, maybe mathematically impossible even, that the resolution is incorrect)
@chrisjbillington My apologies. It is 1th October in my timezone. What is the correct way to resolve when we live in different time zones? :)
@TobiasSowaaed In the case of Manifold stats, most would assume you intended to wait for the official stats for September - the Sep 30th number will be published in about 5 hours. Those stats are calculated in US pacific time, but that's not necessarily relevant, we don't need to know what timezone they're calculated in to resolve markets based on "what were the official stats for September".
More generally, it's good to write the timezone explicitly in your resolution criteria, or if the market close time is compatible with being "end of September" somewhere, people will assume that timezone.
@chrisjbillington Okay I understand. What do you recommend I do now that I made a mistake? Can I unresolve it? It’s the first time I resolve a bet fwiw
@TobiasSowaaed You can't unresolve it, no. I would do nothing, and if it unexpectedly turns out that today's number is >1400, you can ask admins to re-resolve.
You could ask admins to unresolve and reopen now, but it's not worth it given the low probability and short time remaining, and they probably wouldn't get to it today anyway.
