The Social Research Foundation released a poll on support for the ruling ANC following the court decision that former President Jacob Zuma could stand as a candidate for the uMkhonto weSizwe Party, or MKP. According to the SRF, the MKP is now showing 13% support which has contributed to a reduction in ANC support, which it now puts at 37%. On the other hand the SRF is known to be a strong critic of the ANC (and the MKP), suggesting the poll may to some extent be wishful thinking, although the SRP is also know for its methodological rigour.
