The two options with highest number of yes traders minus no traders play each other at market close, the rest all resolve no
The winner (resolving yes) is decided according to the following Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock inspired rules:
๐ถ Coughing Baby infects Aztec Army and Science Nerd, annoys Indiana Jones (who couldn't possibly bring himself to harm a child), and chews thus ruins the Ancient Golden Artifact and Pencil
โข๏ธ Nuclear bomb vaporises Coughing Baby, Aztec Army, Pinball Machine, Lake, and Ancient Golden Artifact
๐ Aztec Army sacrifices Science Nerd, smashes Bottle of Bleach and Pinball Machine, weaponises acid, and harnesses Lake as a natural defense around Tenochtitlan
๐งโ๐ฌ Science Nerd disarms Nuclear Bomb, chemically neutralises Bottle of Bleach, debunks Indiana Jones' stories, contains Acid, and studies Lake
๐ผ Bottle of Bleach poisons Coughing Baby, short-circuits electrics on Nuclear Bomb and Pinball Machine, erases pigments and enchantments from Ancient Golden Artifact, stains and corrodes Pencil
๐ค Indiana Jones survives Nuclear Bomb in a lead-lined refrigerator, outwits Aztec Army, pours away Bottle of Bleach, escapes Acid, and swims through Lake
๐น๏ธ Pinball Machine upsets baby with loud sounds and flashing lights, distracts Science Nerd from being productive, adapts Indiana Jones (imprisoning his spirit inside), uses Ancient Golden Artifact as undignified accessory, and crushes Pencil
๐งช Acid burns Coughing Baby, corrodes through Nuclear Bomb electronics, neutralises Bottle of Bleach, corrodes through Pinball Machine and Pencil
๐๏ธ Lake drowns Coughing Baby, dilutes Bottle of Bleach and Acid, and submerges and damages Pinball Machine and Pencil
๐ช Ancient Golden Artifact gets Aztec Army conquered by Spaniards, curses Science Nerd, tricks Indiana Jones into booby trap, resists corrosion from Acid and Lake
โ๏ธ Pencil writes instructions to disarm Nuclear Bomb and/or acts as graphite control rod, is used in logistical planning to defeat the Aztec army, frustrates Science Nerd and Indiana Jones by breaking its tip when they need to write something, and draws on thus ruins Ancient Golden Artifact
Anyone can add additional pairs of options if they can convince me in the comments they would each defeat and be defeated by half of the other options
Context:
@MattP tfw you were planning on switcherooing your trades at the last moment to bamboozle the market and maximise profit but you straight up forgot on the day
@strutheo To add options, you have to come up with a pair of items that would each beat half of the other items and lose to half of the other items (with the other new item you added being included in these totals), and that avoid upsetting that balance in the existing items (i.e., for each existing item, one of the items in your pair has to beat it, and the other has to lose to it).
Acid burns coughing baby, corrodes the wires in nuclear bomb, neutralizes bleach, and corrodes pinball machine. It is contained and studied by science nerd, escaped by Indiana Jones, weaponized by Aztec army, and diluted by lake.
Lake drowns coughing baby, causes water damage to pinball machine, and dilutes acid and bottle of bleach. It is exploded by nuclear bomb, swam through by Indiana Jones, has its wildlife removed and studied by science nerd, and used as a natural defense for Tenochtitlan by Aztec army.
@PlasmaBallin Hm, there's a flaw in this game. Although new options will always be balanced when they're added, they unbalance old options. We need another pair that loses to coughing baby, pinball machine, and bleach, beats Indiana Jones, science nerd, and Aztec army, and ties on the nuclear bomb, acid, and lake.
So here they are:
Ancient golden artifact is chewed on by coughing baby (ruining it because it's such a soft metal), is used as an accessory in pinball machine (an undignified fate for a priceless artifact), is cleaned by bleach after being excavated by archeologists (removing it from its home) and put in a museum, is exploded by nuclear bomb, and is drawn on by pencil.
It resists corrosion from acid and lake, tricks Indiana Jones into a booby trap, gets the Aztecs conquered by the Spaniards who want their gold, and bores the science nerd (who isn't interested in its historical significance).
Pencil is chewed on by coughing baby, is crushed by pinball machine, snapping it in half, is bleached by bleach, dissolved by acid, and lost in the lake.
Pencil frustrates science nerd and Indiana Jones by breaking its tip when they need to write something, is used in logistical planning to defeat the Aztec army, draws on the ancient golden artifact, and writes instructions to disarm the nuke. Or if you want funnier but less plausible way, the graphite is extracted to turn into a control rod, thus stopping a runaway nuclear reaction from occurring in the nuclear bomb, effectively disabling it.
@PlasmaBallin Every new pair of entries will get harder as you have to make sure to keep everything balanced.
@PlasmaBallin Omg this is hilarious haha
One change I might make is the nerd getting cursed by the artifact instead or something (since they would likely not be bored) but otherwise is perfect ๐
@TheAllMemeingEye Yeah, I like the idea of a curse better. "He gets bored because he only likes science, not history," was just my contrived way of making it all work out.
@TheAllMemeingEye By the way, you haven't added the four new options to the description yet. I assume they all count, right?
Indiana Jones outwits Aztec Army, survives Nuclear Bomb in refrigerator, out-machos Science Nerd. Poisoned by bleach, annoyed by coughing baby, adapted by pinball machine.
Pinball machine adapts Indiana Jones, imprisoning his spirit inside. Pinball Machine fascinates/distracts Science Nerd. Pinball machine amuses baby with sounds and flashing lights, stopping him from crying.
Destroyed by nuclear bomb, damaged by bleach, destroyed by Aztec Army who mistake it for a demon or something.

@asmith Lmao excellent suggestions, though I struggle to see how Indi would be dumb enough to drink the bleach, is there a swap around you could make to solve that?
@TheAllMemeingEye Part of going on adventures is that people will try to poison you with stuff, as happens to Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark and possibly the other movies. So an adversary will put bleach into his drink.
Alternatively:
Indiana Jones beats bleach by reading the label and knowing not to drink it. Indiana Jones (and his many exciting but unlikely adventures) are debunked/disproven by Science Nerd.
@TheAllMemeingEye You should have just set it such that only you can add new options. That used to be a setting, I would assume it still is.
@asmith Perhaps, but I feel like being able to get the trader bonuses would be a decent incentive for people to participate and add options, if they don't feel it's worth it then I'm fine with adding them myself upon request assuming the suggestions are good enough
