Katie Zacharia left the role of White House Press Secretary on October 16, 2026, five days after starting, and the White House has not yet named a replacement. This market is about when her successor is appointed.
Resolution
The appointment date is the date on which Donald Trump or the White House officially announces the person who will be the next White House Press Secretary (for example in a Truth Social post or a White House statement). Media reports based on anonymous sources do not count until confirmed by such an announcement.
Each answer ("Before November 1, 2026" and so on) resolves YES if that announcement is made before 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time on that date, and NO otherwise.
Someone named as acting or interim Press Secretary does not count, and neither does a deputy who takes briefings without being given the title of Press Secretary.
If no one has been appointed before January 1, 2027 (Eastern Time), every answer resolves NO.
