Source: Apple's own top-free feed for the US store, https://rss.marketingtools.apple.com/api/v2/us/apps/top-free/100/apps.json — the first read at or after 12:00 ET (17:00 UTC) on Nov 20, 2026. I'll paste the relevant ranks and the feed's "updated" timestamp in a comment when I resolve.

Resolves to whichever of the five listed apps has the best (lowest-numbered) rank. Only these apps count:
ChatGPT (OpenAI)
Muse from Meta (Meta Platforms), including a renamed version of the same App Store listing
Claude by Anthropic
Google Gemini (the standalone Gemini app, not the Google app)
Grok: either xAI / X Corp Grok listing (currently "Grok AI" and "Grok Bot"); the X app itself does not count
The overall #1 app doesn't matter, only the order among these five. If none of them is in the top 100 (very unlikely), resolves N/A.
1,000My take: ChatGPT 50%, Muse from Meta 25%, Claude 15%, Gemini 7%, Grok 3%. ChatGPT rarely leaves the top five. Muse (out since Sept 8) is ahead of it today, #3 vs #4, but new apps usually fade. Claude is the wildcard: partners reportedly have a new Fable model, and launches spike Claude for a few days.
