Will a large language model / foundational model be deployed on a space landing mission by the end of 2030? As the latency in space is significant, the LLM would need to physically be present on the spacecraft’s onboard computer. The mission must land on a moon or planet with the LLM physically present. The model must be recognized as a LLM, in that it was pre-trained similarly to how LLMs are pre-trained (however that may be in 2030) and must be more general than a small neural network deployed for a specific task.
