We've been playing a few games of poker around here, and now it's time to turn up the heat. This tourney will last 3 hands, and I'm committing 500 of my own mana to the prize pool. Plus I'm giving 10 mana per point earned to each person on the scoreboard. How many points will the winner of the tourney have?
Current Score
@Jason, 15 points!
@ChristopherRandles, 11 points
@A, 7 points
@Dilon, 6 points
@Fion, 2 points
@Rorau, 1 point
@brubsby, 1 point
Scoring Points
Starting with the newest hand, Hand 4 (finished), then Hand 5 (finished) and Hand 6, players and non-players alike can score points in the tourney. Points are awarded per account (in case of alts).
There's a bunch of ways to score points. First and foremost, by playing in the hands:
3 points for a solo win, +1 if showdown
2 points for split win, each
2 points for 2nd place
1 point for 3rd place
1 point for highest buy-in
The Audience grants its points, if any, to its biggest supporter
the biggest supporter is the trader who paid the most mana, net, to keep it in the game
But also for contributing to the whole environment of the game:
1 point for the most popular meta question in each hand (traders)
1 point for the most popular meta question about the tournament (traders)
1 point for single most profit from any question of a hand (main + all rounds)
1 point for single most profit from any of a hand's meta questions
1 point for committing at least 100 mana to any of the game's prize pools (send me a managram and tag it as "for Hand 4's prize pool" or such)
Up to 4 points per contributor to the prize pools; 1 for the tourney and 1 per hand
I won't be earning any points myself, and my own meta questions' trader counts will be ignored for these purposes.
The Prizes
Whereas each hand's prize pool goes to the hand's winner(s), the tournament's pool is divided among the top 3 scorers:
1st (Win) - 60% of pool
2nd (Place) - 30% of pool
3rd (Show) - 10% of pool
Ties split. Examples:
Two 1st place: 45%/45%, 3rd gets 10%
Two 3rd place: split 5%/5%
This question resolves to the number of points held by the tourney winner (1st) at the end of the tournament.

@Stralor wait oh thank goodness it just goes by traders.
Fion +1 point for most popular tourney market
I've added the points for the hand and the main questions. will sort metas and tourney when they resolve, though I've noticed a chicken and egg problem with the tourney questions 😂
Randleman got +4 for winning in showdown, and +1 for most profit in a main question
Jason got +2 for 2nd place
A got +1 for 3rd
to be continued
@Stralor I was going to wait for the tournament points total to resolve my tourney side market. That question didn't get enough traders to earn a point so I don't think you need that one to resolve for that. Not sure about whether you are only referring to hand 6 side markets?
@ChristopherRandles good call. I reopened my tourney ones, too. but the tourney will also resolve all at once so it's your call
brubsby earns a tourney point for Hand 6 subsidies!
I've decided to add a bonus now to the tourney, for everyone who earns any points:
10 mana per point earned for each player on the scoreboard
Should slightly offset the costs of adding mana to the tourney pool, and give incentive to get a little more aggressive, yeah? In any case, it's my tiny gift to y'all who are having fun and giving me that joy as well.
Updated the tourney points after hand 5. lmk if I made any mistakes:
Jason: +1 for adding to pool, +1 for 3rd place, +1 for highest buy-in
Dilon: +4 for winning in showdown, +1 for adding to pool, +1 for highest profit in any side market
A: +2 for 2nd place, +1 for adding to pool, +1 for most profit in any hand question
Christopher Randles: +1 for most popular side market
@ChristopherRandles I added Jason's pool point early as he did the cheats early enough for me to think about it; he had 6 after hand 4
@ChristopherRandles nope, sorry, always tinkering. and I plan for at least one of them to be chaos mode
@ChristopherRandles if people think the stake doublings are a good method (compared to pivot or whatever other ideas), maybe we'll stick with that for a second hand, though.
@Stralor ok thanks. 3 doublings with this hand seems too likely so will have to think of something else.
