Context:

Philip Rivers was the starting QB for the San Diego/LA Chargers from 2006 to 2019. He then started for the Indianapolis Colts in 2020 before stepping away from football. He recently signed a one-day contract with the Chargers in July 2025 to officially retire with them. Rivers is 44, has 10 children, and became a grandparent in 2024.

The Indianapolis Colts have been one of the biggest surprises of the 2025 NFL season with one of the best offenses in the league, led by star RB Jonathan Taylor and resurgent QB Daniel Jones. However, Jones went down in Week 14 with an achilles tear. Given that backup QB Anthony Richardson is also out for the season and third-string rookie Riley Leonard has not impressed, the Colts decided to look for a veteran QB addition.

This has led to the Colts bringing Rivers out of retirement and signing him to their practice squad (https://x.com/RapSheet/status/1998451169388277944). Will Philip Rivers end up playing for the Colts this season?

Resolution Criteria:

This market resolves Yes if Rivers plays a meaningful (not victory formation) snap for the Colts in the 2025 regular season or playoffs.
