James has made an online one-sided bet that anyone can take him up on.
$100 Venmo to anyone who tries Codebuff in their large codebase and isn't convinced it's better than competitors.
This market is a proxy for how good Codebuff is, how viral the tweet goes/how many try it, and how truthful James is to follow through haha.

Apparently @JamesGrugett paid @ian (I think codebuff tried to run a script that would have been very bad if Ian didn't interrupt lol), otherwise no other claims. A few people tried it and admitted it was better!
@dlin007 Elaborate?
Several people took up the challenge and decided it was better than the alternatives and became new users.
One person had an issue which is fixable.
Sure, it didn't go mega viral with hundreds of people trying it, but it was just a single tweet worth of marketing.
@SirSalty oh, i misread the market and thought it was paying people to try codebuff on their large codebase at all. Must be the hater glasses
Better than what part of Cursor? Chat or Composer?
I find Chat to be unbeatable as a time-savings, even though it doesn't do 100% of everything, maybe I do the last 10 - 15% or have to reprompt it (even though I'd prefer a fully automated tool).
If put against Composer, I wouldn't be surprised if Codebuff would win, but also it still might not be worth using, because I don't find Composer usable generally. (Particularly with large legacy codebases)
@SirSalty typo: large *codebase, would be very impressed if codebuff is any useful for large databases
@JamesGrugett how large is "large codebase"? and how will you verify a good faith attempt to optimally use the tool as opposed to an adversarial attempt ? or is part of your claim that codebuff should allow its users to fall into the pit of success? i understand this is also partly for the marketing value - what if no twitter/not american?

I'm hoping the resolution is 20+!
@jim Yup, that's the idea! I actually do think that a super majority of people that try it will find it better than the competition. Which means the cost of acquiring users is not that high as well!
