I have tickets for the San Francisco marathon on 28th July, and have done two marathons before. However, I got a condition called "jumper's knee" 3 weeks ago, that has rendered me unable to run ever since. I already know I'll be skipping the training, but I would like to run the marathon if I can next month. I'm willing to push through some pain, however, in my current state, I cannot run.
In the last three weeks, my knee condition doesn't seem to have improved much. I'm not planning any medical intervention, I'm hoping it will heal on its own. I might try some mobility exercises.
It will also be 'no' if the marathon gets cancelled for any reason.
Will I finish the marathon on the 28th of July? This market resolves 'yes' only if I have an official time on the marathon and I did the running myself.
I'm betting yes for the vibes, but my personal advice would be not to run it.
I ran my first marathon a few years ago with an injury and at the time, I was quite happy after the finish, but in retrospect, it really just extended the recovery time a lot and it's not a time or anything I'm proud of anymore. My next marathon (six months later) would have been a better time without it.
However, good luck and make the best out of it no matter how you decide.
As it's looking now, I'm running this marathon.
My knee has not properly recovered, and I can still not walk down stairs properly. However, when my knee warms up, it gets a bit better. I've done a couple off-road runs the last couple weeks, and those were ok.

Yesterday went for my first run! I ran off-road, since the road is still uncomfortable. Went relatively well, although near the end of the 6 miles my knees became painful, and especially downhill I was limping a lot. Also have been setback quite a bit in endurance, but nothing a little grit can't fix.
