This is really a question as to whether or not a professional mathematician's or economist's input would be cost effective way to inform technical development or platform development decisions/strategies for Manifold Markets as a platform.

To a large extent I believe Manifold already has a pretty deep pool of knowledge to draw upon from the existing user base and discord participants and a mechanisim for accessing that knowledge base "for free", i.e. prediction markets and discord.

After close, resolves to whatever Manifold staff says is the truth.

Clarification: My thought is that this would resolve to a statement made by one of Manifold's founders on the topic, however will accept any Manifold staff that credibly would be involed in hiring or contracting on behalf of Manifold.

Resolves to N/A if Manifold staff does not weigh in by July 8, 2024.

Clarification: to Employ or Consult with a professional, I mean that Manifold pays said professional for their service (in legal tender, not mana).

I would probably consider payment for services in crypto currency to count as well, but I am not familar enough with crypto to put together a well defined criteria that would exclude some esoteric cryptocurrency that has no trade value as counting.
