Q: Why the distinction between cis and trans people?
A: Short answer, market manipulation.
Long answer, its an interesting statistic to have, especially with trans people being so much more common on the internet than in the real world.

A: Pick the option that you presently feel best describes you.

A: I have tried to accommodate for everyone I can and I believe my options are enough for the majority of Manifold users. While I'm sorry your particular identity isn't mentioned, know that is done for the sake of streamlining and practicality.

1,000Voted "other" just because I couldn't pick between "trans man" (I don't super consider myself a man, but I am transmasc) and "nonbinary", but I feel I should've voted "trans man" now seeing that it has literally 0 votes lol
I can't vote because it doesn't have "Man" listed. "Cis-" is superfluous and politically charged. Why ya gotta be so bigoted towards men?
@HakeemYates Isnt the word man enough self explanatory? Adding cis is just redundant. Can I have a glass of wet water?
From purely rational perspective: writing just "man/woman" would lead to some trans people picking those options instead - "Because I *am* a woman, trans is just an optional modifier".
Even if you don't consider trans men men (I don't wanna discuss that), you can acknowledge the utility of the word. It's so much easier to say "cis men" instead of "men (to clarify: <insert transphobic rant>)".
Or actually, with such position, wouldn't it be more appropriate to ask trans men to pick the "woman" option? So let's remove "trans" options as well! Oh, wait, now the poll is less useful...
I think conservatives politicized it much more than liberals.
