This should resolve NO now

bought แน€72 of NO

@RahulShah it's official, both per BBC, and per your BOM link

predicted YES

@HenriThunberg nope still ahead in Foreign :))

bought แน€905 of NO

According to the creator of this market, this should be resolvable since Barbie has grossed more domestically.

predicted YES

@Platypudding No, the statement in the title is correct if you look at foreign.

predicted NO

The gap for foreign is about $40 million, so probably a couple more weeks to go.

bought แน€500 of NO

From https://collider.com/barbie-domestic-box-office-525-million/

Globally, Barbie is on track to pass The Super Mario Bros. Movieโ€™s $1.35 billion haul to become the biggest film of the year. Its current global haul stands at $1.1 billion.

predicted YES

@zQ4Z82W SPM still leads slightly in foreign but I agree that itโ€™s likely to lose soon.

Ill only resolve it afterf that happens, feel free to buy more no In the meantime :))

predicted YES

Does overseas gross count?

predicted YES

@chilli Yes

predicted YES

@RahulShah To be clear, Iโ€™m asking โ€œIf super Mario bros finishes as the leader in international gross (I.e. money made outside the US/Canada) but not domestic or global gross, will this market resolve yesโ€.

bought แน€400 of YES
predicted NO

@RahulShah So far from your comments it sounds like this resolves YES if any of the following 3 are true:
1. the movie is the highest grossing film in the U.S.
2. the movie is the highest grossing film worldwide (U.S. + all other countries)
3. the movie is the highest grossing film when summing across all countries that aren't the U.S. (worldwide - U.S.)

Are there any other scenarios where this resolves YES? E.g., if it's the highest grossing movie just in Poland, does this resolve YES? Trying to understand what you meant when you said "As long as someone can say the statement in the title and be correct".

predicted YES

@zQ4Z82W don't get snarky, the link in the description has those 3 options :p

predicted NO

@RahulShah No snark intended, please clarify when you get a chance. Thanks!

predicted YES

@zQ4Z82W Only those 3, the others are not directly listed on the resolution site

predicted YES

@RahulShah the way you intended this to resolve is very hard to infer from the title and description alone, and some of your comments have also lacked clarity.

For future questions I really recommend taking a much more transparent approach to resolution criteria

predicted YES

@JoshuaWilkes The link has 3 statistics and I think itโ€™s been clear for @nickten and most people here to see what I meant. Iโ€™m not sure what other interpretation there is given the link to the specific page and clarifying any column on there suffices.

predicted YES

@RahulShah this clarifying information should be in the description. It's just good practice

Worldwide gross?

predicted YES

@zQ4Z82W Either worldwide or domestic both count. As long as someone can say the statement in the title and be correct
