This market resolves to the number of countries with status "Blocked" on Polymarket's geographic-restrictions documentation, captured at 23:59 UTC on December 31, 2026.
What's counted. The resolving figure is the count of distinct country rows whose Status is exactly "Blocked" in the "Blocked Countries" table at Geographic Restrictions - Polymarket Documentation . Rows with any other status — "Close-only," "Frontend UI restricted," or any other partial designation — are not counted. The separate "Blocked Regions" table (sub-national regions such as Ontario or Crimea) is not counted. Each table row is counted as listed, by its country-code entry, without separate judgment about sovereignty or territory status (e.g., a listed territory row counts if its status is "Blocked"). As of June 24, 2026, this count is 31.
Snapshot and source of record. The value is read from the live primary page at the snapshot time; the Wayback Machine (web.archive.org) capture of that page closest to the snapshot time serves as the reproducible record. If the live page and the nearest capture disagree, the live page governs.
Source priority:
Primary — the geoblock API-reference page above (the page with the per-country Status column).
Fallback A — if that page is unavailable, removed, or no longer presents per-country statuses, the count of fully-blocked countries is taken from Polymarket's official Help Center "Geographic Restrictions" article, using its set of countries where order placement is fully blocked (excluding close-only and frontend-only / view-but-no-trade entries).
Fallback B — if both official pages are gone or restructured, the market follows whichever official Polymarket source (docs, help center, or terms) most directly enumerates fully-blocked countries at the snapshot.
Methodology / status-label changes. This market follows Polymarket's "Blocked" designation as published at the snapshot, even if Polymarket relabels its status taxonomy — provided the counted status still means "fully blocked from placing orders" (the strictest tier: not close-only, not frontend-only). If the labels change, the closest equivalent to today's full "Blocked" status is counted, and partial/close-only-type tiers continue to be excluded.
Resolution timing. Resolves shortly after December 31, 2026, once the snapshot is recorded. Later edits to the list do not reopen the market.
Judgment. Where these criteria are unambiguous, the criteria govern even if the result is surprising. Where ambiguous or contradictory, the market resolves to its spirit — "the number of countries fully blocked from placing orders on Polymarket per its official geoblock documentation at end of 2026." Ambiguities will be fixed promptly once flagged; betting through an un-flagged ambiguity is at the bettor's own risk.
