On Dec 18, 2025, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem announced a pause of the diversity visa (“green card lottery”) program, after the Brown University shooting; reporting so far hasn’t made the operational scope/end date fully clear.
Resolve YES if the U.S. Department of State opens an official DV-2027 entry period (official e-DV portal) and later makes DV-2027 selection results available (e.g., via the standard Entrant Status Check / official State Dept announcement).
Resolve NO if by the end of 2027 there was no DV-2027 entry period and no DV-2027 selection results, including cases where DV-2027 is skipped and the next lottery is run as DV-2028 (or later) without DV-2027 ever occurring.
