Iran and Hamas confirmed Ismail Haniyeh was targeted and killed in a "raid" in a Tehran residence. Israel has not commented. How did it happen? Please suggest hypotheses in the comments.
I will consult reputable reporting and official sources when resolving the question. If Haniyeh is still alive, it will resolve to "Other"
EDIT: Options are mutually exclusive but the format doesn't reflect that, but I will resolve to only ONE answer.
I will resolve to bombing. https://www.nytimes.com/live/2024/08/01/world/israel-hamas-iran-haniyeh-gaza#photo-shows-the-building-in-tehran-where-haniyeh-was-killed-official-says
A photograph of a damaged building in Tehran that is circulating on Telegram is the site where the senior Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed on Wednesday, according to an Iranian official who shared the image with The New York Times.
One corner of the building appears to have sustained damage and is covered with a green cloth. Rubble can be seen on the roof of the first floor.
I’m hearing these details are perhaps in non-English versions, but I can’t confirm: “According to reports on the ‘Al Arabiya’ network, the assassination was carried out at 02:00 at night, Tehran time, with the help of a guided missile through the bedroom window of his apartment and not by assassins.”
This looks like Hebrew publications using Iranian/Hamas sources.
Hate to argue but imo this is a mistake. A ground-thrown grenade is more similar to a shooting than an airstrike. Of course it’s your right as market creator to do whatever you want.
true, but where’s the mistake? a thrown grenade is closer to being “bombed” than a thrown grenade is to “shot with gun”
and with there being no “airstrike” in the options, an airstrike has even more merit to resolve “bombed” than a thrown grenade would no? @ElmerFudd
@PlainBG Maybe add a “ground launched explosion” option.
@pluffASMR i guess there’s two similar questions, “how did they kill him” and “what was the murder weapon.” A grenade means there was a ground raid, like a shooting. “Bombing” connotes an Air Force bombing (ie airstrike).
