Last year Lewis Hamilton failed to win a race in the 2022 formula 1 season. This was the first time in 15 years he failed to win a race. Will Mercedes peformance woes keep Hamilton off the top podium spot again this year?

Resolves yes if he wins a race, resolves no if he doesn't.

Resolving NO as mod, since the creator seems inactive. Disclaimer: I don't know anything about F1, I'm just going off the confidence of this market, the statement below by Kevin Burke, and this random article I found which said that "Hamilton went winless" for the season.

@Conflux I am not inactive? Just finished the race.

@PhatFree Oops, sorry, should’ve done more due diligence. It is a NO though, right?

@Conflux No is the correct answer

Hamilton won 8 out of the total races in the 2021 season, which is equivalent to 38.1%. However, due to changing rules in building cars, particularly the reduction in minimum car weight, which affects the whole dynamics of the car, the Mercedes team has not been able to adapt the Red Bull team, led by Max Verstappen. As a result, Verstappen has won 82.2% of the races this current season. The implication of this is that Hamilton may not win any races in 2022 and 2023, and as of now, his estimated probability of winning a single race for this year's remaining 6 races after the new F1 rules is 0.0%.

Recurring concerns center on the candidate's health, marked by unsettling incidents of falls on empty staircases. Even if he were to secure an election victory, a pressing issue arises concerning his ability to serve effectively, given that his term would extend until he reaches the age of 84.

Meanwhile, doubt looms over the promised improvements for the middle class. Despite the candidate's commitment to defend their interests, rising gas and grocery prices have cast a shadow over this commitment. This discontent among the electorate may hinder his prospects in the upcoming election.

On a different front, the United States' engagement in the Israeli-Gaza conflict has raised questions. Some perceive this involvement as a strategic move to limit China's expanding influence in the region, with the potential for a significant shift in global perceptions and geopolitical dynamics depending on how Israel responds to the situation.

No.
1. We have repeatedly seen him falling on empty staircases due to health issues, which is our main concern. Even if he were to win the election, his term would end when he becomes 84.

2. It is doubtful how any middle-class lives in this country have improved, despite his promise to defend the middle class. Gas and grocery prices have been rising steadily for some time now. He is not likely to win the election because he is unhappy with the way things are now.

3. The United States' involvement in the Israeli-Gaza conflict has been viewed as a strategy to limit China's influence in the region. Depending on how Israel responds, there could be a shift in global perception.

As stated by article from skysports "One possible explanation for Mercedes' misfires is a loss of key personnel in recent years(Engine boss, technical director, chief aerodynamicist, chief strategist)"https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/12832392/mercedes-f1-struggles-how-did-they-get-here-and-what-is-next-for-lewis-hamilton-and-his-team . Adding to that was believing in virtual stimulating numbers that couldn't replicate in real world conditions which resulting in bad outcomes.

With the above information and from statistical result from each race Mercedes is the 4th fastest car in the grid.

If we dive into the statistics of Hamilton races this year and analyzing the data, I have come up with few key findings that can stronger my bet.

  • After 16 races hamilton average position is 4.37.

  • Comparing hamilton race pase time with the P1 driver during last 5 races, he is down by 740 tenths of a second .

With the information regarding the performance of car and statistics of Lewis game till now, made me want to bet that he will not win a race in 2023.

As a Lewis fan hope Iam wrong, but my data wont lie.

@phenihaskrupa In 2021 Hamilton won 8 races; it means 38.1% of the total season. (FIA,2023). However, after that year the rules for building cars changed. The most relevant was the reduction in minimum cart weight, that affects its whole dynamics.

For different reasons the Mercedes team has not been able to adapt its cart to the new regulations, which the Red Bull team (Max Verstappen) has done very well, winning 82.2% of races the current season (FIA,2023).

This situation should be the main motive because Hamilton could win 0 races during 2022 and 2023 (FIA,2023). Therefore, his estimated probability to win a single race, remaining 6 races this year, after the new F1 rules, is 0.0%.

I disagree with the analysis selected and worksheet, because it considers just the average position this year, but does not explain about the probabilities of winning a single race.

Will Lewis Hamilton win a race in the 2023 F1 season? NO After Mercedes' dominance in the so-called hybrid era of Formula 1, there were many who pushed for a radical change in the power unit, the basis of its success, seeking to simplify concepts that would also help attract new motorists.

What led Mercedes in 2022 to have adaptation problems and strong changes in its designs. Now saying this, this season remains the same so far this year, there is no trend change, which makes me bet that it will be off the podium for this year

The car is pretty bad and the RB19 is the best car on the grid in the hands of Verstappen not to mention the most reliable. Unless he gets lucky, the chances of Hamilton winning a race this season are pretty slim.

@AshleyMathew we agree with this response. though Lewis Hamilton has in the past won the most races as a 7 times world champion, mercedes benz vehicles have not been performing at their best especially in 2023. The F1 season is almost coming to an end with only 5 races remaining. For mercedes to improve their vehicle performance in this season would require a lot of investment in terms time and other resources. There will therefore not be enough time for what is required.

Verstappen has won 16 out of the 17 races to date with 10 of those being consecutive. Verstappen has won the titles in 2021, and 2022. With his performance, it is clear that he already has 2023 in the pocket, his car is performing at its best and he is clearly prepared to win the last 5. Lewis therefore not win any of the races.

Redbull is looking unbeatable this season, and Aston Martin has surpassed the Mercedes in terms of pace. It’s still early but this is not looking good for Merc.
