Resolution criteria

After the CFP National Championship game, an offensive and defensive player are named MVP. This market resolves YES if Fernando Mendoza is named the Offensive MVP of the 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship Game (Indiana vs. Miami, January 20, 2026). Resolution will be determined by official CFP announcements and major sports media coverage (ESPN, AP, etc.). The market resolves NO if any other player is named Offensive MVP or if Mendoza does not play in the championship game.

Background

Mendoza won the Heisman Trophy and was named the AP College Football Player of the Year, the winner of the Chicago Tribune Silver Football, the Walter Camp Player of the Year, the Maxwell Award and the Davey O'Brien Award. In the Rose Bowl, he completed 14 of 16 passes for 192 yards and three touchdowns, and in the Peach Bowl semifinal, he completed 17 of 20 passes for 177 yards and five touchdowns. Through two College Football Playoff games in 2026, Mendoza is 31-for-36 for 369 yards and eight touchdowns, throwing for more touchdowns than incompletions in both games.

Considerations

Most of the MVPs come from the CFP National Championship winner team. Indiana is undefeated (15-0) and the #1 seed, while Miami is 13-2. Mendoza is the betting favorite for Offensive MVP at +135 odds.
