I'm travelling to the US in part to see the eclipse, and the weather reports do not seem too favorable. Many places on the path of the eclipse are expected to be cloudy, and in some it might even rain.

I will resolve options to YES as soon as I can find any photo or a compelling description of the totality from the respective place. I will resolve options to NO if I see some tweets or other reports saying that the total eclipse couldn't be seen due to weather. If I don't see any evidence either way, I'll resolve remaining options as N/A after a few days have passed.

Noticing that the day suddenly became dark doesn't count as seeing the eclipse. The sun hidden by the moon has to be visible.

Feel free to add extra options with other cities. This page contains the list of notable cities on the path of the totality.

I do not bet on my own questions.

For this and two other towns in Vermont, I couldn’t find any evidence one way or another. The cloud coverage on the day was consistent both with the eclipse being visible and being hidden by the clouds.

@OlegEterevsky this is near plattsburgh, which is near burlington and milton, eclipse is visible, some high altitude clouds

@siraben Sorry, I already resolved this as N/A

@OlegEterevsky can it not be re-resolved?

@siraben No, I can’t in-resolve the question.

In my defense, I mentioned a few cities for which I didn’t know the resolution in the comment below and waited for a day. I also tried to find any mentions of eclipse in these places by myself.

Also it looks like the distance between Plattsburgh and Milton is ~20 km. There could be some low altitude clouds in one, but not the other.

@OlegEterevsky Mods can re-resolve if you ask.

@HarrisonNathan I can ask, but I’d need some definite evidence.

@traders I closed the question, but I haven't yet seen any definitive evidence for a few towns in Vermont, Missouri and Indiana. If anyone has resolution for them, please comment. If I don't see any evidence I'll try to resolve based on the cloud cover data (unless it's ambiguous).

@OlegEterevsky Here's Doniphan:

@JonathanMannhart Terre Haute:

@JonathanMannhart Thank you! Resolved both.

Patten ME

@traders I don't see any photos from Patten on Twitter. Could anybody help resolve?

@OlegEterevsky Sure!

Patten is right next to Mt. Katahdin (which has examples on Twitter). Also Maine was completely free of clouds at the time, according to the metereological data:

Resolving Rochester as NO based on this tweet https://twitter.com/WillHand5/status/1777419246747754800 and the lack of any photos with the eclipse.

Newport, VT

I went, completely visible, resolves YES

Syracuse, NY

bought Ṁ60 Cleveland OH YES

From my Cleveland viewing party. Was epic.

bought Ṁ61 Syracuse, NY YES

@MaxHarms Whoa!

@AviD I’m near the domain not down town these photos from downtown don’t do it justice.

I saw clear totality in Austin for about 20 seconds spread out over a few gaps in the clouds.

I don’t have a photo of clear totality . I do have a blurry phone photo just before which shows the gaps in the clouds.

bought Ṁ100 Austin TX YES

@AviD If i had known about this market i would have kept the phone pointed up.

But i choose to live in the moment ;(

Erie PA
