Some markets are bad. Not just not my cup of tea, but qualitatively poorly designed. You know the ones. They have ambiguous questions, insufficient prewritten answers, and unanswered requests for clarification from months ago.
Currently Manifold has a ‘show me less’ option for markets, which presumably tells the algorithm to suppress questions of that kind. But the algorithm targets topics, not garbage.
One of Manifold’s strengths is that anyone can create a market, but that risks dragging the quality far below that of competitors.
The need for some way of denouncing poor user behaviour is already recognised with the ability to rate resolutions.
With that in mind, will Manifold introduce or announce plans to introduce a way to ‘downvote’, ‘thumbs down’, ‘one star’, or otherwise downrank markets?
For clarity, if it is announced but not implemented by market end, the market resolves YES.
