Your Party have had a fractious start to their operation. It’s not even clear that they will get out off the ground with legal threats traded between Corbyn and Sultana. Will they make it to conference?
Resolves YES if there is an event in 2025 which I reasonably think can be called a Your Party conference.
Given that this is potentially going to be a vibes-based decision I will not be betting.
Please do ask clarifying questions because I’m sure this could be controversial.
Update 2025-09-24 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): - If either Jeremy Corbyn or Zarah Sultana hold a conference and explicitly call it the Your Party Conference, it will count as YES, even if the other disavows it.
The conference may adopt a permanent new name at the event; this still counts.
If an event is branded under a different name but claims to be the continuation of Your Party, I’ll judge continuity based on evidence (e.g., use of Your Party mailing lists or donations).
Given the fractiousness, I suspect the big point of unclarity will be whether a conference held belongs to “Your Party” or some offshoot/pretender wing. Especially since nobody seems to wanna keep that name forever. What if Sultana holds a conference but Corbyn&co disavow it or vice versa?
@MmmmpUZO I think that if either Sultana or Corbyn hold a conference and say that it is the Your Party Conference I would have to take their word for it even if the other disavowed the event.
My understanding is that Your Party is intended to receive a permanent name at the conference. I guess that does open an avenue where one or the other announces a conference for Other Party and claims to be the continuity form of Your Party, in which case I’d probably need to determine if that’s true based on whether they’re e.g. using the mailing lists or donations they’ve received for Your Party.
@Noit I interpret the timeline on their site as name coming before the planned conference, but I'm not entirely sure "whose" timeline it is
