Resolved
NO

An agreement between any two of these orgs counts.

Must be credible that it will actually slow down their activity.

@NathanpmYoung I am going to resolve this No, the title says "before 2024" not "before the end of 2024". If you are actually interested in "before the end of 2024" you should make a new market for it.

@Eliza (Or any of you 70 people betting on this could also make that market and post it here!)

They will grow more and more

@NathanpmYoung this question appears to have the wrong close date, it should have closed at the end of last year per the title. This can resolve to "No" now, right?

bought Ṁ5 of YES

Isn't anyone updating on Sam Altman being fired? That must make the chance higher, no?

How will this resolve if there is an agreement between 2 of the 3 but not all 3 of those labs?

bought Ṁ2 of YES

Sounds like collusion, to me
Tech giants scheming, what could it be?
Slowing AI growth, for our safety?
Nah, more likely just cornering the industry.

How will a transparently PR-motivated nonbinding statement resolve?

@lu Probably no if it's non-binding. This will never happen either way though cuz if they don't make the AI technology then some other company will and that other company will profit and nothing says that it will be less malicious than themselves. Better to lead the charge with extra AI Alignment initiatives and that is what likely will happen imo... heck i think I'm convincing myself to buy no here haha

predicted YES

@RahulShah openai was making some slow-down noises while at the same time accelerating, seems like a very cheap green washing strategy to me (in addition to the ethics stuff)
