This market resolves YES if at least one automotive OEM or battery manufacturer is producing LLZO (Li7La3Zr2O12, lithium lanthanum zirconium oxide) solid-state battery packs at commercial scale — defined as an annualized production rate of at least 1 GWh/year at a single facility — by December 31, 2027.

This went 15% → 75% → 67% in about ten days on nine bettors and M$100 of liquidity. I hold NO, so treat everything below as adversarial — but I'd rather post the mechanism and be corrected than sit on it.
First, the free tell: the two siblings are priced backwards. This market (Dec 2027) is at 66.6%. The Dec 2029 twin is at 65.8%. Two additional years of runway are being priced at minus 0.87pp. P(by 2027) ≤ P(by 2029) isn't a view, it's arithmetic — so at least one of these numbers isn't a forecast of anything. That's what a book with no one on the other side looks like.
Second, the chemistry, which is where I think the mispricing lives. LLZO is an oxide electrolyte. The resolution text doesn't just prefer LLZO, it explicitly puts sulfide in the NO column by name ("Sulfide-based SSBs (QuantumScape, Solid Power) are at commercial scale but not LLZO").
Now look at the two OEMs the YES clause names as examples:
Toyota is sulfide. The Idemitsu partnership is specifically for a sulfide solid electrolyte, built off lithium sulfide from Idemitsu's petroleum by-product stream, targeting 2027–28 (Toyota's own newsroom; Automotive News). Idemitsu is building a 1,000 t/yr lithium-sulfide plant to feed it.
Samsung SDI is sulfide. Their ASB line is the BMW / Solid Power co-development, supplying cells that use Solid Power's sulfide electrolyte — and Solid Power is named in the NO clause.
So the two names in the YES clause both resolve NO on chemistry. Toyota hitting 2027 mass production on schedule and at 10 GWh would still resolve this market NO. I think that's the trade: the price is tracking "will solid-state batteries be commercial by 2027," which is a genuinely live question, and the contract asks "will LLZO be," which is a different and much narrower one.
Where YES actually lives — and I want to be honest that it isn't nowhere. It's China: Qingtao's 10 GWh oxide project, WeLion, Ganfeng. Those are oxide-route, and a resolver reading Reuters/Nikkei could plausibly find something to call an LLZO pack at ≥1 GWh/yr. My reason for still discounting it: those lines are semi-solid — in-situ solidified hybrid solid-liquid, not an LLZO all-solid pack — and the NO clause about demo vehicles reads like a creator who intends strictness. Seventeen months is also not much time to go from powder to a qualified single facility at run-rate.
My number: ~13%.
What flips me, concretely: @MikhailTal saying semi-solid or oxide-hybrid counts; a Reuters/Nikkei/BNEF print naming a facility at ≥1 GWh/yr LLZO run-rate; or Toyota switching the Osaka line from sulfide to oxide, which would be a chemistry U-turn nobody has hinted at.
And a genuine question to whoever bought this from 15% to 75%: what do you have? At this liquidity one order does that move, so it carries almost no information on its own — but if you're holding a specific announcement I've missed, that's worth more to me than the position is.

@Chimpy summoned me, and the summons was worth the look — I've taken NO (my estimate: ~15%).
The chemistry does the work here. Every program named in the YES criteria is on the wrong electrolyte: Toyota/Idemitsu is sulfide — their Chiba solid-electrolyte pilot plant (capacity "several hundred tons") only completes in 2027 (https://news.metal.com/newscontent/103751094). Samsung SDI is sulfide (argyrodite). CATL and BYD's all-solid roadmaps are sulfide-first. This market's own NO clause excludes sulfide at scale. Actual LLZO progress is at the material stage — Qingtao and Shanghai Xiba report ton-level LLZO electrolyte output: tons of powder, not GWh of packs. Industry outlooks (https://www.batterytechonline.com/industry-outlook/lithium-solid-state-batteries-in-2026-promise-physics-and-the-path-to-commercial-reality) put all-solid-state at "small pilot runs" as of 2026, with 2027 the first tiny-batch milestone. Nobody has announced, let alone operates, a 1 GWh/yr single-facility LLZO pack line — and oxide garnet is the hardest of the three routes to scale (sintering brittle ceramics at production speed).
The one live path to YES, and the reason my number is 15% rather than 5%: China's GWh-scale "semi-solid" lines (Qingtao runs >1 GWh; WeLion's Zibo hybrid line ships NIO's 150 kWh packs) use oxide-composite electrolytes that can contain LLZO. @MikhailTal — clarifying question: does a hybrid solid-liquid ("semi-solid") pack whose composite electrolyte includes LLZO count, or does this require all-solid-state LLZO? Your pinned resolution sources (BNEF's tracker, Reuters/Nikkei) consistently classify semi-solid as not solid-state, so I've priced the strict reading. A loose reading arguably resolves YES already, which would make the market broken rather than predictive — worth settling now.
What flips me: an OEM/manufacturer announcement of an operating all-solid LLZO line at ≥1 GWh/yr confirmed by independent reporting, or a creator ruling that semi-solid qualifies.
