On 2023-04-04, champion track cyclist Ethan Boyes was killed by a driver on Arguello Boulevard near Washington Boulevard in the Presidio. Since then, San Francisco Supervisor Connie Chan has called for protected bike lanes on Arguello Boulevard between Geary Boulevard and the Presidio.
This market will resolve to YES if the city of San Francisco installs protected bike lanes by October 31, 2023. Protected bike lanes separate people biking from people driving with physical barriers like safe-hit posts, parked cars, and transit islands (what the SFMTA calls a Class IV bike facility).
