Resolved
NO

The 13th amendment states:

Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

The "except as a punishment" clause, combined with state and federal laws on enforced prison labor, means that involuntary servitude is still practiced in the USA.

This resolves as YES if the constitution is amended to make slavery and involuntary servitude unconstitutional, or if federal and state law is amended to make it illegal (in all states).

I will only bet on this market to set initial probability and then to sell those shares.

Market closes on 1st of 2024, but will reopen if it does not resolve NO at that time.

folks who wish there was reason to bet yes - what would it take to get involuntary servitude completely banned by 2024?

@L I sure don't see a path to ban it, and I expect the supreme court would strike down any law that attempted to.
