Resolves based purely on my personal judgement, based on stories I hear throughout the week (not just in this market). I will not bet in this market.
Also, please remember Rule 0: don't commit any crimes for market manipulation purposes.
For reference:
Last week (week of 9/7) would obviously have resolved yes, because of Charlie Kirk getting assassinated.
The week before that (week of 8/31) would have resolved yes, because of the frankly bonkers extrajudicial bombing of a retreating boat.
The week before that (week of 8/24) would have resolved no, despite the Ascension church shooting.
The week before that (week of 8/17) would have resolved yes, because of that whole crazy debacle with one of Eric Adams' staffers trying to bribe a reporter with cash in a chip bag .
Update 2025-09-15 (PST) (Creator summary of creator comment): - The creator MIGHT consider stories posted in the comments.
Tiny or obscure stories probably won't be enough for a resolve, unless they're some insane shit I missed (which is to say that Florida-Man-style local/regional crazy shit probably won't be enough to resolve this yes).

@Marnix ok, i lied, i actually did some looking at it now. I think I gotta resolve this yes. This is just a straight up threat to broadcasters? And then ABC acted on it?? My first reaction reading the article here was "what the fuck is going on," so I think this shit's crazy enough for a YES.

Apparently Tucker Carlson (?!) is currently accusing Trump of using the Charlie Kirk assassination as an excuse to destroy the first amendment, which, like, that sentence feels like a whole YES resolution on its own. That sounds like some shit I'd have written as a bit five years ago. I feel like I kinda have to resolve YES here
@traders By popular demand, I'm doing one for this week, too. Surely some crazy shit won't happen FOUR weeks in a row, right...?
@jcb I asked the same thing when I saw it. CNN reported on it and apparently a reporter asked him a question and he responded to it. So seems real yeah
@Marnix we should make a collab market like “will some crazy shit that both of us agree is crazy happen?”
I agree with this resolution for the record, the Kimmel firing is pretty crazy, although it’s just barely across that threshold
@Dulaman i think it is very clear from the current title that this resolves to the creator’s opinion, and adding “[creator’s opinion]” would be a redundant.
for intrinsically subjective questions like this, the default is the creator’s opinion. (not because I think that’s good or something, just… what else could it even be?). if they want to surprise us and resolve to something else (a poll or something I guess) then the description can clarify that.
@Ziddletwix it IS the first thing in the description, tbf. I would be willing to do a poll but it's much more fun if there's the possibility of me getting drawn and quartered for a terrible take
I've got a terrible head cold, I'm gonna sleep on this and look at the Kimmel stuff a bit closer tomorrow morning, but hooo man this looking like some crazy shit

@Marnix ABC acted on some of their member stations pulling Kimmel after FCC threats.
Carlson did not accuse Trump, the clip you're talking about is one where he says bad actors shouldn't be allowed to use this to pass hate speech laws.
Just to clarify
@TiredCliche ah, okay, I'm guessing that was just in response to Bondi briefly saying she'd "go after hate crime" before walking it back then? Less crazy, but still, this is definitely some crazy shit imo
@Marnix Probably, but he was doing his usual brave thing of being allergic to naming a name or specific thing.
