Brian Quintenz was nominated by President Trump in February 2025 to lead the CFTC. He previously served as a CFTC Commissioner from 2017 to 2021 during Trump's first administration and was most recently the head of policy at Andreessen Horowitz's crypto arm (a16z).

Quintenz's confirmation process has faced challenges, with his Senate Agriculture Committee vote being delayed multiple times since July 2025. The White House has continued to express support for his nomination despite these delays.

Resolution Criteria: This market resolves to YES if Brian Quintenz is confirmed by the U.S. Senate as CFTC Chairman on or before December 31, 2025. It resolves to NO if he withdraws his nomination, the nomination is rejected by the Senate, someone else is confirmed as CFTC Chairman, or if his confirmation does not occur by December 31, 2025.
