Following a news report from Der Spiegel, Lindner is currently under investigation for potentially illegally accepting an advantage. Concretely, he is alledged to have gotten favorable conditions for a loan in return for a video message shown at an event by the bank BBBank.
If the allegations turn out to be true, he will likely be forced to step down from this office.
